Drugs: Two articles comparison

The drug epidemic is a serious problem happening across the U.S and it has killed more than thirty thousand people. This health issues are tackle in “Inside a Killer Drug Epidemic: A Look at America’s Opioid” and in “On the campaign trail in NH, heartbreak over heroin addiction”.  As one of the articles states “Public health officials have called the current opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history.”

 

According to the Editorial board, 2017, “Public health officials have called the current opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history.” (Para 2)

I’m glad you were able to complete the common idea sentence– check out Olivia’s post to see the possibilities of an even more analytical topic sentence. Additionally, you don’t have to tell me that both articles tackle this issue, instead you can just cite an example from your first article, explain it, and then move on to your second article. You also don’t need to give the article titles– you can do that ONCE in your intro paragraph. The YEAR of publication should go in parentheses: The Editorial Board (2017), “….” (para. 2). <-notice the period is OUTSIDE of the parenthetical.
