New Drug addiction and it consequences are a common epidemic. According to (editorial board, Jan. 6,2017), “ the current opioid epidemic is the worst drug crisis in American History, killing more than 33,000 people in 2015. This illustrates that the number of people who died in 2015 from Drug addiction are even more than gun homicides. Following this, the state leaders are planed to stop this epidemic and improve addiction service while presidential campaign is still running.

Hi Toure! So your transition from the Times stat to the Woodruff article looks good. What you want to work on though is your common idea sentence. It isn’t as analytical as it could be. Instead of saying “drug addiction is common.” You might point to a more specific or more analytical claim– The drug addiction crisis is one of the worse of the century OR state intervention is necessary in order to resolve the drug crisis. Something that gives you an opportunity to interpret your quotes and show its relationship to the topic sentence. Additionally, your citation should look like this:
